Gowns

If there’s one thing you might have noticed if you went to our concerts (apart from our delight to sing together), it ought to be our iconic gowns. Based on the commoners academic gowns of the University of Oxford (where our founder Charlotte Messiaen‘s daughter studied), they were designed with UCLouvain’s colours (white and blue) on the sleeves and wear faculty-coloured ribbons in the collar (see below).

The gowns are worn by the choristers above plain black clothings at any official performance. Our conductor‘s back collar also displays the colours of our university, but is exempt from any ribbon.
